We Are Promised Jetpacks

by Mr. Kanard

We move to Scotland with We Were Promised Jetpacks, a Indie/Rock band formed with Adam Thompson, Michael Palmer, Sean Smith and Darren Lackie, active since June 2009 with two studio albums, "These Four Walls" "In the Spit of Stomach" and one EP "The Last Place You Look" with the Fat Cat Record label.

It starts gently with "Pear Tree", which looks like a dance, a voice that seems jaded but full of emotions, little notes of violins to enhance this sweet and melancholy effect ... You can also find an acoustic version of this song, with only Adam, this version is much more poignantly, the absence of drum gives a freer side, less aggressive, but the two are wonderful!

It gradually continues with "Sore Thumb" in the same genus as "Pear Tree", guitar/piano intro, which is mingled the drum (the intro is quite long), and finally when the singer's starts, we feel his voice is muffled, as if he mustn't be heard...

"Quiet Little Voice" makes the transition, more lively, which always destabilize us. At the same time, the singer's voice is really not bad, I would even say "good"! A chorus where the whole group adds his voice, which gives a very good result for the ears, music pierces us through, as a kind of shock, moreover, we find here the title and lyrics of songs, a kind of self-surrender to feel better...

Discover the rest yourself, their songs are like embroidery, with the clear and strong voice of Adam, around which the instrumentals weaves to give this music.

Facebook is here, and their website there!

It's nice to write for those who read us, for others, too bad! Peace! Mr kanard
